MANUFACTURING

GEAR MANUFACTURING

There is no single process to gear manufacturing as they require different processes depending on the type and application.

Generally, gears operate in very strenuous conditions because transmission of power (the actual purpose of the gear) has several requirements. Firstly, the gears need to be in absolutely perfect condition. Then, they must always be reliable, have minimal residual stresses, and a little to no chance of crack propagation.

Naturally, all these requirements are extremely difficult to fulfill. However, no one can deny their importance. That’s why gear production is a highly specialized field with limited tolerances and room for error.

Hammer Forgings

Closed die drop forging is a steel sha ping process whereby a heated steel billet is placed on a lower die mould block, while an overhead, die-equipped ram hammer drives or “drops” down, forcing the metal to fill the cavity of the two die blocks. Our drop forging process produces near net shapes that will require only a small amount of machining or finishing, thus reducing production costs. When it has to be drop forged, turn to Goela Engineers for incomparable results.

CNC& VMC Machining

The term CNC stands for ‘computer numerical control’, and the CNC machining definition is that it is a subtractive manufacturing process that typically employs computerized controls and machine tools to remove layers of material from a stock piece—known as the blank or workpiece—and produces a custom-designed part.

Vertical Machining Centers, also known as Vertical Milling Machines, create holes in flat parts. The VMC technology is favored when three-axis work is done on a single face, such as in-mold and die works.

 Sheet Metal Laser Cutting

Laser cutting is one of the most effective methods for cutting sheet metal. When choosing a cutting process for a sheet metal fabrication project, it’s important to consider the capabilities of the tool you choose compared to the needs of your project. For many fabrication projects using sheet metal, laser cutting is the best choice.

Laser cutters are the most commonly used machines for sheet metal as they can cut most materials, at a variety of thicknesses, depending on the laser power.
